Short Story (1,530 words)

In a shack in the Australian outback, Morland sends his woman, Helen, to wait in the back room while he confronts Hartman, his former partner who has just arrived after spending months pursuing him. Hartman has come to recover what is his, and warns Morland that "when a man fights for something he really loves he can't be beaten." But who, or what, does he really love?
